Akbari: Isfahan Province Forerunner in Implementing Rural Development Plans.

The first briefing and coordination meeting for implementing the rural development plans, mentioned in article 27 of the Law for the Sixth Development Plan, was held on Sunday, May 13, 2018, hosting Dr. Akbari, head of Administration and Planning Organization of Isfahan Province and some bailiffs, heads of Islamic Councils, and village prefects from some chosen villages in Isfahan University.

At the beginning, Dr. Akbari, who has the office of the secretary for the Isfahan Council of Planning and Development, discussed the contents of the article 27 of the Law for the Sixth Development Plan and pointed out that the most significant feature of this article is that it pays ample attention to rural areas and that the main vision of planners and legislators is to enhance the social, cultural, economic, and infrastructural status of the villages.

“Administration and Planning Organization as the paying agent of this project is commissioned to make plans for an average of 100 villages annually until the end of the sixth development plan in order to minimize the poverty, create jobs, and enhance rural life” said Dr. Akbari, emphasizing the simultaneous use of the experience and potentials of the Accommodation Foundation and the scientific potential of University of Isfahan and Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research.

The head of Administration and Planning Organization of Isfahan Province also stressed the fact that there is no allocation of capital specifically to the rural development plans, pointing out the facilitating role of the government in such plans and its efforts in removing obstacles. “The rural development plan is a cooperative project which is to be implemented by collaboration between Administration and Planning Organization, Accommodation Foundation, and academic entities and Islamic councils, village prefects, and local confidants within the framework of development of the seven areas of the province. The organization will identify the problems and potentials of each village and plan to solve those problems utilizing the potentials” he said.

Nematollah Akbari admitted that the situation of some villages is not what Isfahanian people would deserve and hoped that the best results for the sustainable development of the province villages will be attained via a mutual collaboration between the government and the rural dwellers.

In the end, there was a workshop on the best ways of cooperation between members of Islamic Councils and village prefects in collecting data required as well as making plans.
